While Disneyland, the region’s most popular amusement park along with its sister parks of Disney’s California Adventure and Downtown Disney are technically outside of Los Angeles -- tucked inside Orange Country’s Anaheim. But, if you avoid rush hour traffic south, you can get to all three parks in less than an hour.
The main amusement attraction with LA’s boundaries is Universal Studios Theme Park and the Universal City Walk, The shops and restaurants on the City Walk are free to look over, but you must pay to enter the movie themed park. Universal Studios includes a tour of their back lot studio facilities.
Six Flags Magic Mountain is in Valencia -- just on the northern edge of Los Angeles. The Park boasts more roller coasters than any other Six Flags attraction.
